It's a visual investigation with an author's perspective that brings together the events that took place in Patagonia during the 19th and 20th centuries. A story that translates into images the impact of colonialism on the territory, whose main victims were indigenous communities, precipitating them towards their disappearance. The project, which aims at reflection and subsequent recognition of social justice, cultural preservation and respect for human rights, also contributes to the safeguarding of collective memory.
The studies on the impact of colonisation constitute a contribution to memory, study and re-signification of communities in certain historical periods. How it has forged the model of society that governs us and how the identity of our cultures has been constituted throughout history. Collective memory allows the voices of those who were silenced or marginalised, such as indigenous, enslaved and colonised populations, to be recovered and recognised. It serves in the preservation and revitalisation of cultural identities that colonialism attempted to suppress, promoting pride and respect for their heritage.
